Taking Time to Catch Up

TWC '09...was filled with God's Glory!
Where do I begin? There is no way to tell of the "glory and power" that filled the Tabernacle! Trying to put into words how wonderful the conference was is like trying to "unfold the beauty of a rose". My words fail to express all the eternal wonders that took place. I know for sure we had at least 5 ladies filled with the Holy Ghost...the greatest wonder! I know of a lady who was delivered from cigarettes, set free from the chains that bound her...another wonder! I saw hundreds of ladies touched by the power of Almighty God...He visited with "His daughters" again...another wonder! I saw thousands of dollars laying on the steps of the platform, given out of unselfish hearts. There was no pull for an offering, just a need presented and within 4 minutes ladies had given "ABOVE and BEYOND" what the need was...another wonder!!!! WOW! You should have heard the GASP from the crowd when the total was announced! :)
There is so much that surrounds this offering. How God talked to Judy Gandy (pastor's wife in Tyler), and had her pray for a "financial miracle" for another lady. She prayed, then received a promise that it was PAID! On Friday night, a lady at the conference "saw in the Holy Ghost" that this money was given and came prepared to help pick it up in an empty bag, because she knew it was going to happen! Before coming to conference another lady kept seeing money laying on the steps of the tabernacle. All week she saw this and didn't know what it meant. She found out on Friday night!! OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD! I cannot describe the shout that went up and the rejoicing that took place when God answered this need. Heaven just couldn't be much better than this. :)
We experienced "wonder after wonder" at TEXAS WOMEN'S CONFERENCE '09! There is no way to describe it!
Dedie Cooley spoke Friday morning on "Praise and Worship" and I must say, I have never heard a more powerful message preached on this subject. The passion in which she spoke and her "life experiences" I will never forget!!!!! When I walk into the tabernacle of God, wherever it may be, I will always remember it is "God time"!
Nancy Grandquist was our evening speaker and she blessed the conference through her speaking and singing.
Cindy Miller was our day speaker, and she was amazing! To hear someone who is so knowledgeable, yet so "down to earth" was great!
Jeanetta Orange was the Music Coordinator and was very anointed and "put together". The praise group she chose was awesome! The musicians who helped her were Elaine Edwards (organ) Jonathan Elms (bass) and Michael Orange (drums). They all flowed together as "one" and we enjoyed singing and worshipping as they played "unto the Lord".
Everyone was wonderful and God was AWESOME!
I was thrilled as I looked out at the beautiful faces of ladies who were enthralled in worship and praise to God! There is nothing more beautiful than to see people who adore Him and love Him with "all their hearts". As we worshipped together, He kept blessing us. I saw hearts being healed, and victories being won that I have been praying to happen for a long time.
There's an EXCITEMENT in the Texas District! You can feel it and you can hear it in the voices of Pastor's, Pastor's Wives, and Saints! We are all expecting "greater things" to happen this year!!!! There is a "Unity of Spirit" prevailing in our hearts and minds. There are many hungry men, women and children being filled with the Holy Ghost and being baptized in Jesus Name! We are having a REVIVAL in TEXAS and I am SO HAPPY to be a part of it! We can all rejoice with what God is doing.
I can hardly wait for District Conference, Holiday Youth Convention, TEXAS CAMP MEETING, and Youth Camps. We are going to have a time on the 'ole camp grounds!
Note: I'm sorry I do not have any pictures for this post. A lot of mine did not turn out. If anyone has some you would like to share I would love to have them!

Trust HIM!
Pro 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
2Sa 22:31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
Psa 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Psa 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
Enjoy your day! We have SO MUCH to be thankful for!

Coming Up...and I Can't Wait
Since I am living here in Lufkin, right in the middle of the "hub" for Texas District functions, I get to watch as the Camp Ground starts "taking shape" after the long winter, and the slow season for Texas District. WE really haven't had a "slow season", but most of the district functions have been elsewhere, so now I'm looking forward to the signs going up in the reserved parking lot, and the tables being set up for registration, the folders being filled, and the platform and foyer being decorated.
I can't wait to see what the hospitality room will look like this year.
When I walk out and see all the ladies who have gathered for the first night of TWC I know my heart will jump for joy, because when we have that many ladies in one place worshipping and praising God GREAT things will happen!
I can't wait for the first chord to be played on the instruments, and the praise singers to sing their very first song. I know they will be anointed because they are preparing their hearts and minds to be used by God.
I can't wait for the very first MC to stand and greet the crowd!
I can't wait for the speakers to "speak the Word of life" into our hearts and minds.
Are you ready?
Are you anticipating?
Are you coming to receive from God?
Are you ready to "give to someone else"?
I JUST CAN'T WAIT for it all to begin!!!
So....all you ladies HURRY UP and get here, because we're going to have a time!
Wel-l-l-l-l-l....you better not show up tonight, because I'm going to bed to get some rest so I can work some more tomorrow, preparing for ALL of you, so you can "have the time of your life"!!!! :)
Goodnight....Love you all!

Home...Where the Heart Is
Life can get complicated and frustrating, if we allow it to affect us in this way. It's not worth the stomach ache, head ache, aching muscles, and frustrated mind! "Cast all your care upon HIM for He careth for YOU!" HE knows the "why" of your situation.
This past weekend was another time I enjoyed very much. We were invited to speak at a "Life Conference" in Section 8. On Friday night was a Sectional Rally in which my husband ministered. It was wonderful and brought strength to all in attendance. After church we got to fellowship with some of the ministers.
Pastors: Hopper, McMahon, and Strawn
On the steps of the Bed and Breakfast: Sis. Knight, Me and Sis. McMahon
I must go and take care of some things that are pressing, but I want you to have a wonderful day. No matter what you are doing today...out and about...busy as a bee...at home taking care of a million things that must be done...or just "being home"...let your heart be refreshed with His presence and let it be a reminder that "This world is not our home...we're just passing through...our treasures are layed up...somewhere beyond the blue..."
Keep travelling on...

A Few Birthday Pictures
One thing I didn't mention in my last post about Copperas Cove was on Sunday night as we were getting ready to sing, I testified. Then I "took the liberty" to "celebrate" my husband's birthday. Of course, the church didn't know until I told them that something very special was happening on Monday. I asked them all to stand, asked the drummer for a "drum roll". As the drums were "rolling", I said to the church..."Tomorrow is Bro. Elms 60th birthday, and since he doesn't have his own church to celebrate with him, will ya'll be "his church" tonight and join me in singing Happy Birthday?" They were WONDERFUL in making "the moment" a festive one for him!!!! THANK YOU, Pastor Hendrick and the Copperas Cove Church for being so kind in wishing my wonderful husband a VERY HAPPY BIRTHAY!

Copperas Cove Weekend
Bro. and Sis. Knight are the former pastors of this wonderful church. They are still there enjoying the "fruit of their labor" and we enjoyed visiting with them. They have a lot to be proud of and they are thankful the work continues to flourish. Another thing that made me feel at home was when Bro. Knight introduced the choir.
Bro. and Sis. David Carrington from Dumas, TX are retired and are now living in Copperas Cove.
Friday night we will be in Corsicana for a "section-wide rally". (Section 8) My husband is preaching it. Saturday morning I will be speaking at the "Section 8 Ladies Day" there in Corsicana. If you happen to be "near" please stop by and see us. The more the merrier!!!

Friends...Oh how I love 'em!
They are wonderful...awesome...incredible...enjoyable...fun...loveable...and the best part about it all is they LOVE ME! :)
Vernon, a friend of the Gilbert's dropped by IHOP and brought Kay a gift...a new camera. Vernon is quite a "unique guy" and he loves David and Kay so much! He is a "giver" and wanted to bless her with this special gift.
We "toured" some more and stopped out at the lake.I snapped this picture of Wendell as he was relaxing out on the porch by the lake.
We left the "Gilberts Celebration" with thankfulness in our hearts for the many friends we have. We are blessed beyond measure!

Catch Up Time
Wendell preached a men's rally in Cleburne, TX last Saturday, so we had the opportunity to be in church at Andrew and Mandy's on Sunday morning. We were also happy to see Todd and Julie, Madison and Mason!!! They had been at the Junior Bible Quizzing Tournament in Longview and stopped by to be in church at Balch Springs. We got to have lunch with them before we all parted ways. It was so good being with some of "our kids". Todd use to stay at the house with the boys when they were young. We always felt very comfortable knowing he was there with them, so we "adopted him" as one of our sons! Seeing them made us very happy, and then when it was all over I was a little sad. There's nothing like being with those we've loved for so many years!
When we got home things were swiftly "back to normal". Wendell went to the office and me to the motorhome. I just had a little nagging emptiness in my heart. I guess you can say, I was lonely!
Thursday, Wendell and I went to eat a bite of lunch at Logan's. He had gone out to the car ahead of me, and as I was walking across the parking lot I looked up and saw a van going by and as it passed I read, "LIFE TABERNACLE"! About that time I hear a horn honk, and then saw the big smile of CURTIS SHAHAN, and as PASSED ON BY...he WAVED! I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES, AND SURE COULDN'T BELIEVE THEY DIDN'T STOP AND AT LEAST SAY "HI"!!!!! :) I figured out real fast WHY they didn't, (Due to a LOT of highway construction there was really no place to turn around, and they missed the drive-way to Logan's) but we still would have LOVED seeing all of them! Bro. Elms was disappointed that they didn't stop, too. I hope they enjoyed their trip to Deweyville where Darrell Orange was having a "Wild Game Supper", but NEXT TIME you BETTER STOP!!! :)
When Wendell came home from the office, he told me Bro. Frankens from Homer had called and was inviting us to be in service with them, because Missionary John Hemus was there and he had told Bro. Frankens we were "good friends". We were so happy to have the opportunity to see our friend once again. He had preached for us in Wichita Falls, and we had enjoyed having him and the family very much. They were some of those people you just "connect" with. As we were winding things up to get ready for church, the phone rang and it was Chris Isom from "home" calling! We were so happy to hear from Bro. Chris!!!
Tonight we were privileged to be Denison, TX with David and Kay Gilbert as they celebrated 30 Years as Pastor of Truth Tabernacle!
We got to visit with Bobby Stanley a few minutes, but missed Glenda!
Presbyter Bob Myre was there. Bob and Donna are wonderful! Donna couldn't be with him, so for his picture he posed with an "imaginary Donna"! LOL!
Also, Darren and Ginger....ya'll did a fabulous job putting together a great celebration for your parents! We love you!
The week is not over, and there's more good things ahead. I think I will go to sleep, so I can enjoy some more FUN!

Behold He Comes
The Little League baseball game across the street has come to a halt. Players and parent's are searching the clouds. And what they see, and what you see, has never before been seen.
As if the sky were a curtain, the drapes of the atmosphere part. A brilliant light spills onto the earth. There are no shadows. None!
From every hue ever seen and a million more never seen, riding on the flow is an endless fleet of angels. They pass through the curtains one myriad at a time, until they occupy every square inch of the sky.
North…South….East….West….
Thousands of silvery wings rise and fall in unison, and over the sound of the trumpets you can hear the cherubim and seraphim chanting, Holy, Holy, Holy! The final flank of angels is followed by twenty-four silver-bearded elders and a multitude of souls who join the angels in worship.
Suddenly, the heavens are quiet. All is quiet. The angels turn, you turn, the entire world turns and there He is....JESUS!
Through waves of light you see the silhouetted figure of Christ the King. He is atop a great stallion, and the stallion is atop a billowing cloud. He opens his mouth, and you are surrounded by his declaration:
"I am the Alpha and the Omega!"
The angels bow their heads...the elders remove their crowns...and before you is a Figure so consuming that you know...instantly you know: Nothing else matters. Forget stock markets and school reports, sales meetings and football games. Nothing is newsworthy. All that mattered...matters no more....
For Christ has come!
I received this email from a friend today. I know this is someone's way of trying to explain how His return will be. No one really knows how it will actually be when Jesus appears in the sky, but I got excited just thinking about when He comes...and HE WILL COME! This is OUR HOPE!
Are YOU ready?

I WILL!
I may get down....but I WILL be up again!
I may question....but I WILL believe!
I may not have the answers....so I WILL turn to the One Who does!
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. (Mic 7:8)

Dreams
We were having some big gathering, I think camp meeting. As I walked from the "eating place" back to where my husband was I noticed a large group of people gathered out under the stars. As I walked, it dawned on me that I had forgotten that I was to lead a "prayer service/devotion" for the ladies the next day. Oh my! I got in a "tizzy" real fast!!! "What am I going to say?" QUESTIONS started attacking my mind and just as I was getting all "up in the air" over it I heard a man say, "Look at the stars out there! Isn't the sky beautiful tonight?" Seeing the twinkling stars and how they lit up the black sky of night, immediately I started singing, "And I thank God for the Lighthouse. I owe my life to Him. For Jesus is the lighthouse, and from the rocks of sin...". As I sang, I heard as the "old gentleman" started harmonizing with me, then others joined in as we sang..."He has shown a light around me that I could clearly see. If it wasn't for the Lighthouse...where would this ship be?"
I then noticed an old friend of my parents sitting not too far from me, and as she wiped her eyes from "remembering the loss of my parents" I kept singing..."Everybody that lives around us, says to tear the Lighthouse down. The old ships they don't sail this way anymore, there's no use in them standing 'round. But then, my mind goes back to that stormy night when just in time I saw the light, it was the light from that old Lighthouse that stands out there on the hill."
I woke up! WOW! I have chills as I remember the feeling I had as I dreamed, and as I type I still feel the presence of the Lighthouse.
A "dark night", old friends, new friends...the "stars" who light the night, and the One who gives the "song"! What more could one ask for? Today...remember the "Old Lighthouse", and a friend. There is nothing more urgent than stopping to remember those you love and the One that loves you!
I thank God for the Lighthouse...I owe my life to Him!

You Never Know
When the board finished their meetings today we all went to eat at Logan's Roadhouse. While waiting to order, we were visiting and having a good time when in the middle of conversation I looked up and saw a lady approaching the table. I was shocked to see that it was Shirley Buxton!! My husband was looking at her and saying, "Is that you? What are you doing?" She said, "Yes, it's me, and I'm coming to see you!" LOL!

Oh, How Wonderful
I love how God uses those who are willing! Even though I don't believe she reads my blog, I want to say...Thank you, Mickey for being sensitive to Him!
