My World Stops...

A Little of My Heart
I am also thankful for the preacher's who have been declaring a "sure sound" in their messages to the Church! I know my husband and our son, Andrew has been preaching some incredible soul-searching messages here in our church. Also, I've heard about our son, Jonathan preaching about holiness and separation. I am thankful we have younger men who are taking up the baton and are running this race! I've been reading others who are "holding onto the old paths" and my heart is warmed when I hear what is being preached.
I am not about to give up those things which I have been taught all of my life, for a little of this world! There is not one thing this world has to offer that holds any attraction for me. I feel more and more like a stranger here. I'm really glad I don't "fit in". God has always had a separated people and I'm so thankful for the Truth that has set us free from the grips of sin! We have a "treasure" that we must protect. We have young ones coming up around us who are watching us for "clear direction". Let's keep walking down the "straight path" and not veer to the left or to the right. Let's make sure our footprints on the path of "holiness and separation" are not covered by the mud of this world. Let's keep walking down the "old paths". We must clear away anything that would cover the ancient landmarks that give us clear direction. We are on the home stretch. The finish line is just ahead! I love this OLD TIME RELIGION....it's good enough for me! (by the way...we sung that last night...and everyone loved it!)
I hope anyone reading this can feel my "heart" and not just read my words. The main thing is "making sure our hearts are right with God". There's a lot of voices calling for our attention, but we must not give into the voices that are calling from a distance. There's also a "still small voice" that is saying, "Draw closer! Draw closer! Don't leave me out! I want to be near you!" Can you hear Him? Are you living close to Him? I don't know why I feel so strong to write this tonight, but someone who reads this just might hear Him talking. Don't push Him away! He wants to be near you, to make your life "right" again. I may not know who you are or what you're going through, but HE knows who you are, and He still loves you! My prayer is that every backslider will come back "home"! He's waiting with open arms and....we are too! I love you and will continue to pray for your "safe journey home".

Living in "December" and a few random thoughts!
This week has been busy for me, so I haven't had a chance to write much. I have enjoyed all the comments I have received on my post about Ashlyn's hair. I guess I have to agree with all of you about her being "adorable". :) Thank you for letting me brag.
I am still about a month behind everyone! I just wrapped all of the Christmas gifts for Jonathan, Brenda, Savanna and Scarlet. Now, before anyone jumps to conclusions, you need to go read my post about "not having Christmas with the kids" in December. I am so homesick to see them and when I talked to Brenda this week she added a little "fuel on the fire" (she didn't know about my homesickness) by telling me that Scarlet woke up one morning this week and the first thing she said to Brenda was, "I'm so excited about seeing Mimi!" Well....I wanted to jump in the car right then and drive 7 hours to give her a "hug"! Wendell and me were driving down the road the other day and he said, "I am missing Jonathan, Brenda and the girls! I'm ready to see them!" I am too, but it will be a little while longer. We do have plans to go be with them for "Christmas in February" and we can't hardly wait!!!!
We're suppose to have some pretty weather the next few days. It's been freezing cold here. The last I heard we're suppose to have some beautiful 70 degree weather. I think Sunday is suppose to be 73! LOL! You would have to live in my "part of the world" to understand! One hour it's COLD and the next WARM? Do I wear a coat or should I wear sandals? That's one thing about North Texas that I like. The weather definitely doesn't let you get bored!
I will close with this little ditty. Don't ask me why I thought of it...I just did! Maybe my brain has been frozen and it is just now starting to thaw out! Here it is:
He got so fat that he couldn't see his knees."
Ya'll have a great weekend! I might be back to see you before Sunday. It depends on my "half-frozen brain". :)

Good Morning!

Sunday Night
After teaching my class this morning, playing for the service, not getting any rest this afternoon, having Praise Group practice and Choir warm-up, prayer before service, a meeting with the service leaders, praise group, musicians, and sound man, I was pretty tired when church started! I am NOT complaining about it, because I LOVE what I do. This is my life and has been "my life" for as long as I can remember. Being involved in the church from a child, and as a Pastor's wife for 35 years has been my JOY! Yes, I do get tired, but I come home refreshed and fulfilled after I have given my talents to God.
We were having good church, good congregational singing, and good worship. There is hardly any service that goes by that Life Tabernacle doesn't have "good church". Tonight was another good time of worship and praise. We even sung three songs out of the "hymnal". :) We like doing that, at times. The service progressed, the choir was called up to sing. We were singing old songs..."Covered by the Blood" and "When the Battle Is Over". The choir was singing good, musicians were playing good, Kassie was leading good, the saints were worshipping good, when all of a sudden....and when I say all of a sudden....that is exactly what I mean. I felt the POWER of Almighty God come into our service!!! I heard and felt the "Holy Ghost after-burners" turn on in the choir, and the POWER of the Holy Ghost started flowing through the choir and the saints in the pew!!!! I cannot explain to those who have never experienced what it's like to feel God this strong, but those of you who have experienced this, you know what I'm talking about. A battle was fought and won tonight in the "spirit world"! I was in awe of how God took control! It wasn't a normal "Pentecostal blow-out" tonight. Something else happened. I am looking for more and more chains to be broken, lives to be changed, and souls to be won!
My words are so inadequate when trying to explain. Maybe you will feel the depth of what I am saying. I am praying for "whatever it takes to see God's promises come to pass" that it will be done, and we will see them take place THIS YEAR! Let's all continue praying and fasting for the out-pouring of the power of God to sweep this nation, our cities, and our churches! Have a wonderful week. I'll be writing more later...."the Lord willing".
P.S. We did continue on with service and had another wonderful message preached by Andrew, our son. Thank God for His Word and those who "labor in the Word"!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SCARLET

It's hard to believe you are already 3 years old! You are so beautiful and we love you so much! God has great things for you, so I pray that He will be your greatest desire. Love Jesus with all your heart! You are special to Him and to Papa and me. Have a wonderful birthday, Scarlet. I wish we could be with you on this special day.
Monday Thoughts
Last night I was able to go to church and was privileged to hear Andrew, our son, as he delivered the message God had for our church! It was incredible and we were all made aware of what God is doing and will continue to do "through us" this year!
I received an email from one of our "lady leaders" of the United Pentecostal Church International this morning, and was again very thankful for the roots I have! In my reply to her I said, "I feel such an expectancy in the spirit, and a unity in the organization that I haven't felt in a long time. Maybe it's because we are having to "stand up for what has been our life" for so long, and seeing how satan is trying to destroy the very thing that has brought us this far, we find a strength in fighting for UNITY." We cannot give up in the race we have begun! The church is made up of many different people, all of whom are flawed in some way, but the TRUTH is not flawed, the Oneness of God is not flawed, Jesus Name baptism is not flawed, separation from the world is not flawed, loving one another is not flawed! The principles we have lived by and held dear to our hearts are not FLAWED! I AM THANKFUL for "my organization" and stand with all those who are our leaders and the ministry God has placed over us. I AM THANKFUL we have God-fearing men and women who will stand up and declare "this is the way...walk there in". We are holding onto "the old paths" and loving every step we take! I LOVE the Word of God that is preached in our pulpits. I LOVE hearing what I need to "DO", to be saved! I LOVE hearing the Acts 2:38 message! I LOVE hearing great men of God who stand and declare to "come out from among them and be ye separate"! I LOVE my life as an Apostolic lady!!! I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world. It's wonderful serving God in the "beauty of holiness". I feel secure in "my church" and in "my organization"! There have always been some who do not conform to the teachings I have always loved, but I love them, and hold their friendships dear to my heart. When we come into the "unity of the spirit" God can work many wonderous things among us. I want to be "salt" to someone's life. It doesn't matter to me if it's within our fellowship or a sinner on the street. If I can help somebody draw closer to HIM, then "my living has not been in vain". I love being who I am and only want to become better for His Kingdom and for those I love and treasure.
I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. I pray God's blessings will envelope you as you are "on your way to Heaven".
"This world is NOT my home. I'm just passing through. My treasures are laid up, somewhere beyond the blue. The angels beckon me from Heaven's open door; and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
We have so much to be thankful for. Let's not get our eyes on things that would distract us. Let's keep our eyes on the goal and someday we will enter that city with our loved ones and friends, and will be reunited with those who have gone on before! I am waiting and longing for that day!

Christmas In January
We still have plans to have Christmas with Jonathan, Brenda, Savanna and Scarlet. I don't know when it will be, but when we get the opportunity we will have another "happy time". Jon and Brenda, we missed you all very much tonight. Hopefully, we will get to see you before too long.
To my friends in "Blogville"...go ahead and keep celebrating the New Year. I will catch up to you all in a few months. I'm going to enjoy Christmas in January or February or....whenever we can. You might find a post about it sometime in March! Life goes by too fast, so I'm just trying to slow it down a little! LOL!

It's Time For a Breakthrough!
I've come too far to look back,My feet have walked through the valley.I've climbed mountains, crossed rivers,Desert places I've known. But I'm nearing the home shore,The redeemed are rejoicing.Heaven's angels are singing.I've come too far to look back.
I am looking for some great victories! Do we have some warriors who will take up the sword and fight until the battle is won? I have a feeling there's a lot of you who are feeling the same call of the Spirit!
"Breakthroughs" do not happen overnight or just because we want them to. They happen when we get tired of the "usual". Tired of the mundane, lackadaisical, routine of life, and decide we will do whatever it takes! It is not time to give in to the pressures of the world! It is not time to say, "whatever will be will be"! It is time to fall on our faces before God, submitting ourselves to Him, until......
This has just been a little of what's been on my heart. I'm sorry if it makes us uncomfortable, but maybe we need to be just a little. Maybe I will be a little more light hearted the next time around. I'm just ready for God to show us His glory once again!

A few pictures...a few thoughts
Jim Bob always had a smile!

Karla Christian, Wanda Smart, Vicki Christian, and Me

Vicki and me (friends forever)

"On the other side treasures there have I. Treasures that this world and all it's wealth could never buy. When I reach that city and the gates swing open wide. I'll find my treasures waiting on the other side!"I am looking forward to the day I can meet all of those who have gone on before me, and all of us who remain, on the streets of gold!
"Won't we have a time when we get over yonder? OHHHHHH won't we have a time!" "We'll sing and shout and dance about, when we get over yonder...."Heaven is going to be a JOYFUL place!

Just a Thought
"Faith does not deny the reality of difficulty; it declares the power of God in the face of the problem."Maybe that statement will speak to your heart....as it did mine! STAND STILL, TRUST, and SEE the salvation of the Lord!
