October is Pastor Appreciation Month and Life Tabernacle saints are always aware of this special time. This year was not an exception. We received many cards with beautiful words of love and encouragement. Some of the Sunday School classes made special posters, and children wrote notes to their Pastor. Some even drew pictures of Wendell in the pulpit preaching. They were all wonderful! When we returned home from a trip we opened the door to our car and there was a note that said, "Welcome Home! Compliments of your Life Taberncale Family". It had been completely detailed by Keith and Trevon Norman, two of the men from our church. We had never seen it look so good! Not even when it was "new". WOW! Then, this past Saturday, about 9 men from the church took Wendell to play golf! Jonathan also joined them. They had a wonderful time and Wendell had one of the lowest scores!! He said, "that was REALLY Pastor Appreciation!!" We have a wonderful group of people to pastor. The Lord has definitely blessed us with a great church. These are just a few happenings from this month of appreciation. There is not room nor time to tell about all the hugs, smiles, and words of love the saints of God have given to us. Our hearts are full and over-flowing!

e were blessed at Life Tabernacle to have Bro. and Sis. C.M. Becton with us. In the Morning Worship Service the presence of God was so strong, and "waves of worship" came throughout the service. When Bro. Becton took the pulpit he was instantly used of God in prophecy. I cannot tell you how deeply God touched all of us individually. As the church responded there was a mighty roar of praise and worship that filled the sanctuary! Sunday night was filled with the Shekinah glory of God. As The Sanctuary Choir sang "You Are Everything" I felt like I could have fallen on my face in worship to our awesome God. Last year when the Becton's were with us Wendell told Sis. Becton he wanted her to speak when they came back this year. She is always wonderful! Her candid way is so refreshing and she blessed the church as she spoke. Bro. Becton then came to the piano and he "tickled the ivory" for awhile. Of course, we absolutely loved it.
We are so excited because the contractors have finally started our parking lot at the church. We have needed it for so long! They should be finished in a couple of months. As you can see this is just the beginning. If you look really close you will see that Wendell is a HAPPY PASTOR! I just wanted you all to see what is happening around our church. It's going to be a big mess for awhile, but it's worth it!

woke up this morning and received a text message from one of our high school teachers asking me to pray because the school was "locked down" and they didn't have an idea "why". Of course, I let her know I would pray right "now". Then, I received an email from a lady in our church that said, "What a beautiful morning! The wind is blowing and the temperature is just right!" Two different scenarios happening so early in the day, and I started thinking.....my husband and I use to sing a song that said "What a beautiful day for the Lord to come again. What a beautiful day for Him to take His children home. How I long to see his face and to touch His nail scarred hands. What a beautiful day for the Lord to come again." Wouldn't it be great if Jesus decided to step out on the clouds today and take us home? I don't know when He will return, but I know I want to see Him. The way I see Him in this life is when I spend time with Him each day. He is saying to us all, "Stop, take a little time to be in My presence, and I will give you REST!" Sometimes we need to have our own "lock down" with our precious Lord. He is waiting......patiently.
Here is my family! They mean the world to me. My husband and I have been married for 33 years and as he says, "we are still on our honeymoon!" We have two sons. Jonathan (right) and Andrew (left). They are both ministers of the gospel and we are so thankful for them. Jonathan married Brenda and they have given us two beautiful GRAND-daughters. Savanna (5) and Scarlet (21 months). Jonathan and Brenda have been pastoring for 6 years. Andrew married Mandy and they gave us Alayna (4) who is absolutely a living doll. Andrew and Mandy are Youth Ministers in our church and they also assist us in many areas. Brenda and Mandy are the best daughters-in-law anyone could have. They are both beautiful inside and out. Our grand-daughters have brought more JOY into our lives than we can ever express. God has really been good to us and I thank Him for all His blessings!
