Home...

We have driven many miles over the last several days. God has been good to us and given us a safe journey. We had a wonderful time in California with family and friends, but we are happy to be home for a few days. I have a lot to write about, but it has to wait for now. I just wanted to let everyone know that we have made it "safe and sound". If you breathed one tiny prayer for us, THANK YOU! In a few minutes I will lay down and go to sleep with thankfulness in my heart. There is nothing like being home in my own bed!

On the Road

I'm stopping by for a few words tonight. I do not have the time to write about all that has been going on this weekend, so I will just say we have had an incredible time in Los Angeles with Bernard and Sandy Elms as we celebrated their 40 Year Church Anniversary. I will write about it more when I can post a few pictures.

We are on our way home. I hated to leave all our loved ones that live in California! It makes me sad thinking we won't see them for quite some time, but we must journey on. This month is very busy for us, but I really wouldn't have it any other way.

I trust you will have a great week! If you think of it when you pray, please breathe a prayer for us while we are on the road. We want God's hand of protection on the highways. Tonight we came very close to a situation that could have involved us, but His hand kept us safe. I'm thankful!

May the blessings of the Lord be upon you! I'll "see" you again, soon!

Weekend In Flint, Michigan

I sit in our motel room tonight in Flint, MI with mixed emotions. We are flying out in the morning heading back home, and I look forward to being home, but we've had such a nice time with Bro. and Sis. Henson, their family and church family that it makes it hard to leave.

The weekend activities have been so enjoyable! We went to a Sectional Christmas Banquet on Friday night. It was nice meeting Bro. and Sis. Carpenter - Michigan District Superintendent and many of the Pastor's in this area. On Saturday night was South Flint Tabernacle's Christmas Banquet.
It was decorated so beautifully, the food was delicious, and the people were so nice to us. We also met Bro. and Sis. Jacob Tapia from Missouri. Bro. Tapia does impersonations of some of the UPCI well-known speakers and singers and he does a phenomenal job! "Elvis" visited and sang for us, so when he was finished I had my picture taken with him. How could I resist! After all, everyone doesn't get this opportunity! :) One of the highlights to us was having the opportunity to meet the Henson's family. We had never had privilege of knowing their two girls, Melissa and Jerusha and we enjoyed "getting to know them" a little this weekend. Melissa is married to Jonathan Hudson, whom we have known since he was a little boy. It was so fun getting to see him, again. Jerusha is married to Jason McGhee and he is a fine young man. They are all busy in the work of God as they work beside Pastor and Sis. Henson.Sunday services were outstanding! The congregation of South Flint Tabernacle are wonderful. You could feel the unity of purpose and spirit as we began to worship and praise God. I captured this as my husband was getting ready to deliver the message. Sunday morning one person was filled with the Holy Ghost. I loved watching the saints of God pray in the altar with those who were hungry for God in their lives. Being in the presence of people who are committed to the cause for revival was wonderful. The choir sang Sunday night and there was a mighty move of God! The "glory of God" filled the sanctuary once again. Our spirits were lifted into the heavenlies as we worshipped Jesus...our Savior, our Redeemer.

I was walking down the hall of the church when I spotted this.Somone saw me taking a picture of the snow shovel, and said, "Only people who are not from here would take a picture of that." I just smiled and said, "We don't have to use these in Texas!" There was one at each entrance of the church. We wished so much that it would snow while we were here, but it looks like it's going to wait until we are back in Texas. :(

My friend, Shirley Henson.. What an incredible lady she is! She has touched me in many ways over the last year and a half. There have been times I needed to hear from a friend and I would go to the mailbox and find a card from Shirley Henson. There is no way she could have known what I needed. Shirley is always the SAME! I'm honored to call her "friend".

Today, the Henson's took us to Frankenmuth, Michigan. It's a beautiful and quaint town not far from Flint. We met the Carpenter's for a fried chicken dinner at Zehnder's. It is known all over the world and people come from everywhere to eat. The meal was delicious and the fellowship so enjoyable! After our meal we went to the largest Christmas Store I've ever been in. It was awesome!

I also went to the Silent Night Chapel with Shirley.
There are signs along the pathway going up to the chapel that has the song Silent Night written in many different languages. It was interesting to me and helped me realize that a song I have sung all my life is enjoyed by millions all over the world.

We drove across this beautiful covered bridge. It has no nails holding it together, only wooden pegs.There is no way to say how much we enjoyed being here. I had a friend tell me that we would be treated with the greatest of care and she was so right. "Thank you, Bro. and Sis. Henson for a wonderful time! Your have blessed us in so many ways. We love you and appreciate all you have done and for being our friends!"

Willis TX Weekend

A few weeks ago when I went to Section 9 Minister's Wives Luncheon with Karen Wehrle and Diane Green, we were traveling along and I saw an RV Park on a lake that was beautiful. When I saw my husband I told him about it and also said I would LOVE to stay there sometime. I did not know where it was located, because "us ladies" were talking and having a good time.

Pastor Stovall called and invited us to come preach for him, so when we asked him about parking at the church in our motorhome he said, "No, I'll get you a space at the RV Park. I would rather you be there." We didn't have any idea that the RV Park he was talking about was the very place I had seen a few weeks earlier! I love it how God shows us how much He cares about "the little things" in life! You will see by the pictures that it was a beautiful place to relax.

After we arrived and "set up" our home the Stovall's picked us up and took us to eat dinner. When we drove up to the restaurant, and I read the name BING'S, I couldn't believe it. The restaurant serves Chinese food and I remembered "way back when I was a little girl" going to a Chinese restaurant with my Uncle C.W. called "BING'S"! It was the only one I had ever heard of and now here I was looking at the name again. Of course, I had to ask if it was the SAME family who owned these two. I found out they were not the same, but it was another one of those times "memories" flooded my mind. I enjoyed my "walk down Memory Lane" for a few minutes. :)

We had a good nights rest and went to church Sunday morning. We had never been to Willis so we were happy to be seeing the church and being with the saints and Pastor's family who "worships the Lord in spirit and in Truth"! What a great move of the Holy Ghost we had!!! As I was sitting there looking around I felt like I knew some of the people on the platform. I kept asking Sis. Stovall who "this one and that one" was. I finally laughed and said, "It's hard to worship when you're trying to figure out who everyone is!" LOL! After church we found out that THIRTY-ONE years ago we preached a revival where these people attended church! They remembered us from so long ago, and came to my husband to tell him what a blessing he had been through his ministry at that time! WOW! It's so great being a part of something that lasts a "lifetime", and when you invest in it, the "benefits" come back to you over and over again. We had a delicious meal and a time of fellowship at some of the saints home, along with Pastor Stovall and family, and others who were friends from the church. It's wonderful when you can "connect" with people and feel like you've known them a lifetime. But, that's the way it is in the Kingdom of God!

On Sunday evening there was no service so the Stovall's came to see us at the RV park and we had a great time visiting and watching Logan fish. He caught two fish and we all got excited with him. He was so happy! Logan is a very special boy and we connected real fast. He reminded me of my mother's brother, David and so we had a great time together. He made me laugh at his "little remarks" about things, and was a joy to be around. Thanks Logan for a wonderful time!

We feel we have made some more "friends for life" and we are so blessed to know this great Pastor and family! Thank you, Bro. and Sis. Stovall, Logan and Abundant Life Church for a great time! You treated us like royalty! I just hope we can return the blessings in some way!!

McLeod Weekend, Monday, and Tuesday With Friends

I have lived in TEXAS for a LONG TIME and never knew this is how you spelled the name of this town.  I always thought it was spelled "McCloud", because this is the way "McLeod" sounds.  So, for those who have been "in the dark" as I was, you have learned "something new" today.  The english language never ceases to amaze me!  :) 

We were in this beautiful area of TEXAS this past weekend, and enjoyed every second of our time spent there.  I did not know what to expect, except I had heard the church was in the country.  After driving down through the "woods" we came upon the church.  We were so impressed with how beautiful the church was, and the grounds were so very beautifully cared for.  We were met with smiles, and hand shakes, and "glad you are here" from wonderful people of God.  When we entered the sanctuary the presence of God met us and we once again felt "right at home"!  Pastor and Sis. Jeff Story have pastored in this field for quite some time, and have done a wonderful job in shepherding the flock in McLeod.Saturday evening the Story's took us to Pier 27 restaurant where we were served delicious catfish and hushpuppies!I found out while we were there that Nathan and Ronda LOVED eating there when they lived in Texarkana, so I picked up my phone and gave her a "sweet little call"!  It felt so good to be able to tell her where I was!  LOL!  Ronda is always calling me and telling me she is on her way to some place beautiful, like....Monterey, Carmel, or San Francisco, or just riding around in her convertible with the top down "enjoying the California coastal weather"!  I know I wasn't in THAT beautiful of a place, but I was in a place she LOVED eating at.  LOL!  It really was good and we left there very full and satisfied.  

After arriving home Monday, we were at the office for a little while.  Just as we were leaving, Mark and Diane Green drove up.  We told them we were on our way to eat, so we invited them to go.  We had a wonderful time sitting and talking, eating, and sitting and talking, for over 2 hours.  It's great having friends!Tuesday was a very busy day.  I had an appointment to go to, and some things to take care of, and Wendell had a funeral he needed to attend.  When we finally saw each other later in the day he said, "We have a dinner appointment".  I was surprised, yet happy.  I'd had a stressful day (for whatever reason) so, I was ready to do something fun!  

Bro. and Sis. Ron Smith had invited us over for a "home cooked meal"!We really looked forward to getting to visit with them, and getting to enjoy the "food".  :) When we got there we learned that some more very dear, precious friends would be there.  Bro. and Sis. Neeley knocked on the door a few minutes later and we were so happy they were joining us.After eating a scumptious meal of pork loin and rice, corn, lima beans, salad, cantaloupe, hot rolls, and peanut butter pie, we were as full as we could be!  It was all so delicious!!!! We had a lot of fun listening to Bro. Smith's "dog stories", too.  :)

Special Note:  Kent and Traci...I wish ya'll could have been with us last night!  I thought about you often.  My camera batteries were dead, so I took some "blurry photos" with my iPhone, just for you! 

It's Been a Long Time

I hope ya'll have missed me as much as I've missed YOU!  :)  Really, I have finally stopped for a few hours and thought I would sit down and write a post.  It's amazing how much I think about "blogging" when I am unable to do so.  I've "jumped" on the "blogs" and skimmed over my friends and families posts this week, but haven't sat down and "taken them all in" as I usually do.  I've missed it, too! 

Last weekend we were in Quitman with the Clark's.  We had a fantastic time!  They are like family to us and we always enjoy being with them.  Mallory and Taylor and beautiful young ladies, and love God. I love seeing children who have grown up in the church, and love God with all of their hearts! It's a great example of what the church can do to "save our children".  I've said it many times, and still believe it..."We did our best to raise our boys to love God and serve Him, but we didn't raise them by ourselves!  We had a church who loved us and loved our boys, and they helped us bring them up to serve the Lord!"  Thank you, saints of God, who love the pastor and his family so much that you stand with them, arm in arm, and fight for the saving of our children!  

Keith and Carla, ya'll are wonderful and we are so PROUD of what God has done "through you".

We got home from Quitman, and I loaded my car with my suitcases and left for Pflugerville to be with Karla, and to shop the rest of the week!  I had the top down on my convertible and was having a wonderful, relaxing trip when I felt the "road changed".  Then, I felt something strange in my steering, put my foot on the brake, and I KNEW something was WRONG!  My car did not want to be controlled, so I slowly brought it to a stop...on the side of the road...got out of the car and walked around to the back.  I heard a "hissing" sound, and saw that I had a FLAT TIRE!!!  The whole tire looked like it had been cut with a knife, except for one small section!  It looked really strange. Here I was out in the "middle of no where"!  Now, what was I suppose to do?  I got back in the car and called my husband and told him what had happened.  While I was talking to him a "work truck" pulled over and backed up to my car and FOUR men got out of the car.  I told Wendell it looked like I had some help, but he insisted on me calling 911, "just in case" I needed help from an officer.  I called, and they stayed on the line with me while the "work guys" changed my tire.  The police didn't have time to get there for me, because the men had changed the tire so fast, and I was back on the road in a very short time!!!  Thank you, Jesus!  Of course, they had to put the "do-nut" on my car, and I had to drive no faster than FIFTY the rest of the way to Pflugerville, but I made it!I had a wonderful week shopping with Karla.  I love having her with me when I shop, because she "makes me" try clothes on!  LOL!  For all of you "shop-a-holics", I know you don't believe there could be a woman alive that doesn't like to shop, but you have just met one!  :)  I usually only shop out of necessity!!!  "Necessity" calls only about twice a year for me, but when it "calls", Karla always makes it "more fun"!  

We got to see my "best friend, Vicki" while I was there.  Karla and I met her for dinner on the last night.  It is always good to see Vicki.  She makes me laugh!

There were a couple of things that happened this week that once again made me thankful to be living for God.  Karla and I had gone to eat a "late night supper" at IHOP and a waitress came to our table and asked, "Are ya'll United Pentecostal"?  We said, "yes", and she came back with, "Not Assembly of God, but United Pentecostal?"  We smiled and answered her again, "Yes, we are United Pentecostal".  She then asked, "Can you tell me where I can find a United Pentecostal Church?"  Karla gave her directions to a church in Austin.  

Then, when we went to eat with Vicki I noticed a couple sitting over to the side of the restaurant, not far from our table.  Almost as soon as we sat down the lady who was sitting to the side, came to our table and said, "Excuse me, but, are ya'll United Pentecostal?"  We once again said, "Yes, we are!"  We had some conversation with her, and found out she had recently moved there, and her "friends mother" had just moved in with them.  The "mother" was a United Pentecostal saint, and they were looking for a church for her to go to.  I noticed when we walked in that "the couple" was "hugged up" in the booth, and there was an alcoholic drink sitting in front of the man.  After the lady came to our table, and returned to hers, we noticed they were no longer "hugged up" and the man seemed a little uncomfortable.  He sure had his guard up!  I said to Vicki and Karla, "You know, I imagine there is a little mother at home who has been praying for her son to come back to God, and we just "happened" to walk into the same restaurant where her son was at."  I am sure God was once again putting someone in the cross-road of this man's life, and was saying, "Come home...come home!" 

After all of the conversation, and directions given to our inquiring friend, Vicki looked at us and said, "See there!  We just walked in and was a witness!"  She was right!  If we had looked like "the world", and "acted like the world", neither one of these ladies would have come to us inquiring about the United Pentecostal Church!  I will say once again.....I LOVE MY LIFE!  I LOVE LIVING FOR GOD and being separated from this world.  There is nothing I "do not do" that I "want to do"!  I guess you could say, "I'm Happy Where I'm At"!

Let It Rain!

How time flies when "you're having fun"!  The work of God is so much "fun"!  We had the privilege of being at New Life Tabernacle - Dallas with Bobby and Glenda Stanley this weekend and we had a fantastic time! We started out the weekend on Saturday morning speaking at a Leadership Seminar.  About this time each year is when enthusiasm starts to subside in some leaders, so we were there to "give them a shot in the arm".  I think they gave me a "shot"!  :) WOW!  We had such a great time on Saturday.  Everything was top-notch!  Lori Maxwell is the Leadership Team Coordinator and she had every aspect of the seminar organized and decorated.We were totally impressed with everything!  We were also thankful to see her and Danny doing so wonderful in the church in Dallas.  The Maxwell's came to Wichita Falls a long time ago when their daughter Shelly was only five.  They were with us for 13 years then moved away because of work.  It was wonderful to see how God is using them in New Life Tabernacle.  We enjoyed hearing and watching Shelly play and lead in worship on Sunday morning.She did a great job!  

Sunday morning service was electrified with the presence of God!  My husband preached wonderfully and many people came forward to regain strength and power.  Then, Sunday night was another outstanding, powerful, incredible, awesome outpouring of His presence!!!!  I wish all of Dallas could have been in that service.  I can truly say, "I have sat in heavenly places" here on earth!  It made me excited to think that someday we will all be together worshipping the King of kings, and Lord of lords.  HEAVEN!  What a place that's going to be!!!  We left Monday and headed back to Lufkin refreshed and blessed.  

The Stanley's flew out Monday morning to North Carolina for a Holy Ghost Crusade.  This is not a "normal crusade", though.  Let me explain.  Several months ago a preacher from another denomination was on the internet and "happened" upon New Life Tabernacle website. (Bro. Stanley's church)  He started studying the Bible study they offer and saw his need of receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost!  He has received it and several of his congregation has also.  (I'm not telling all the details)  Now, he has asked for the Stanley's to come and preach a crusade, because there are people wanting this great experience!  Last night (Monday) was the first night of this meeting and Bro. Stanley called and wanted to tell us about what happened.  He was so excited!  FIVE people received the Holy Ghost last night!  Including two preachers, one preachers wife, and two others!  There are a lot of details, but I do not feel I should go into them, at this time.  Please keep this special meeting in your prayers this week!  God is doing a mighty work and pouring out His spirit on those that are hungry. LET IT RAIN!  

I am happy to say that "great things are happening through the preachers and saints of the United Pentecostal Church International"!  We have people all over the world being used by God, and there's a great  "harvest of souls being reaped".  What a great day we are living in! Let's all be a part of what God is doing in these last days!

It's RAINING!

It has been raining off and on all day long.  When we left Dallas it was raining, then it let up for awhile and we put the top down on my convertible, and enjoyed the "breeze" blowing all around us.  When we pulled into "home" it started raining again, and I don't think it has really stopped since.  I am sitting in our motorhome listening to the rain on the roof.  There's nothing like it!  It makes me want to curl up with a cozy blanket and go to sleep.  Really, I guess that's what I should do since it's almost midnight.  But, I just got an "I-M" from my sister who is having herself a "time" in California, so I think I will talk to her for a little bit, then I'll see if I'm going to bed!  

Well.....I think I am going to bed!  The rain is getting louder and louder, and it's good "sleeping weather"!   Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z......I'm already asleep at the computer, or is that my husband I hear?  LOL!  Goodnight to all!    

Back Home!

Whew! We have arrived back home! Saturday we left for Dallas area to be with the church in Balch Springs. We had a wonderful time with the saints, and had incredible church! We enjoyed fellowship with them and was treated like royalty! I cannot tell you how wonderful the service was, and how God did something special in all of our hearts. Let me say, just in case someone reads my blog from there:).... THANK YOU! I would also like to say a great big thank you to Chris and Shelly for taking such good care of us. We love ya'll! It was good seeing Rachel (Wendell's cousin).

While there, I got to visit with some of my family for a little while. It was so good seeing them! Ginger, Carmen, Brook, Pierce, and Layne...I love you all! It was so much fun seeing the boys and they are SO CUTE! Shara and Jimmy could not come because of drama practice, so maybe next time I will be able to see them.

We left Monday and made a FAST RUN to Wichita Falls. We needed to pick some things up, so we went to our house to do that. Gene and Karla are living there until we sell it, so we all felt a little "strange" when we arrived! :) I rang the door-bell (of course) and Chad opened the door with Gene right behind him. Karla and Cameron came around the corner, and I heard Karla say, "This feels really weird!" LOL! I knew exactly how she felt! LOL! Even though we all felt a little "misplaced" we had a great time visiting with them. Someday our houses will sell and they will be able to buy their own home, and we will be able to buy a home here! :) How is it that "life" can get so "mixed up", yet feel so "right"? I think that is a question I will ask God when I get on the other side. LOL!

After going to eat at HUNAN'S (ummmm...good!) and explaining to them why we moved away, and "yes" we miss them, we went to the church to see the remodeling that is taking place in the Pastor's office. It looks like it's going to be really nice, and I'm anxious to see the finished product. Karla, the boys and I stayed for Praise Group practice, and it was wonderful seeing everyone that I worked so close with in the Music Ministry at home. They are absolutely some of the MOST talented people I know, and I LOVE hearing them sing and play! Ya'll are AWESOME!!!!! I will ALWAYS love you MORE than you know!

On Tuesday, we drove back to Dallas and met Andrew, Mandy, Alayna and Ashlyn. They are there "vacationing" for a few days. Oh, how my arms were aching to hold the girls and hug Andrew and Mandy. We had such a nice time being with them for several hours. We spent time as "family" and there is nothing that can take that kind of "time" away. I miss them SO MUCH that it hurts sometimes, so when we have the chance to see them we take advantage of it.

We are now back in Lufkin, and business has been going strong since we arrived. :) Maybe I should say, "my husband is BUSY"! LOL! I am too, but not near as much as he is.

Tomorrow we have a very important meeting to be at, so I wanted to get this post made so I wouldn't be worrying about it. Now, that's taking "blogging to heart" when you can't relax knowing you haven't made a post in several days! Oh well, it's something I enjoy and really miss when I'm not able to sit down and write.

I Will Return!

I think my brain is FRIED! Maybe it's the heat we've been having here in TEXAS! :)

I'm sorry I haven't been "saying much". It's just been "one of those times" where I haven't had a lot to report, or to say. Everything is fine, though! I know there are some who worry when I'm not blogging a lot, but just to let you know...I'm doing fine! In fact, I told my husband today that I am very happy with "life".

We will be travelling quite a bit the rest of this week, and into next week. My heart is saddened to learn of two of our minister's wives who have passed away this week. Although, I did not know them personally, I know their families are hurting today. Please pray for the Rev. Roy Moorman family. (Kirbyville, TX) and the Rev. Edmond Miller family. (New Boston, TX) If you are from Texas District, I'm sure there will be more information sent as soon as we receive it.

Please pray for us as we travel. Pray also for us to be able to "give" to those we will be in contact with. They need strength, encouragement, and a lot of love and concern.

The Lord willing, I will try to post sometime again, soon!

Euless Weekend

We have had a wonderful time here in Euless this weekend. The services have been touched by the presence of God, and there was unity in worship and praise! God is doing great things here and we were happy to be just a tiny part of it this weekend. The praise singing is led by "Jason's Julie", and she is anointed as she plays and sings. It was so good to see them. Jason is one of "our" young men from home and is doing wonderful in the church here! He and Julie got married after several years of him pursuing her, and he finally "caught" her. :) Brandon was here today, also and it was good seeing him.

You will not find any better people than Bro. and Sis. McLaughlin, and Bro. and Sis. Benson (Sis. McLaughlin's parents) Bro. Benson started the church 39 years ago and when he retired, Bro. McLaughlin took the pastorate! What a great team they have made through the years.

One of the beautiful things I saw tonight in church were the McLaughlin's sons, Jonmichael (11 yrs. old?) and Blake (9 yrs. old?) worshipping the Lord. From the very beginning of service they had their hands raised and were in the spirit of worship. It was awesome to watch as they gave praise and glory to God! I love to see our preacher's kids involved in the church. Then there's Jenna...(5 yrs old). She is so cute! Jenna and Alayna are friends, so we had something in common. She HAD to ride with us tonight to the restaurant. I was happy to have her with us. Of course, it made me miss my granddaughters something terrible!

I didn't get a lot of pictures today, but I still wanted to share the few I got.

After a time of prayer before service tonight, I went into the sanctuary to wait for the service to begin. As I was sitting there I watched as people came out of the prayer room. There was an elderly gentleman that walked by, a couple ladies, then my attention was captured by the next two people. It was a mother and young daughter holding hands as they left the prayer room. I thought, "That's one of the things I love about going to church!" Seeing parents teaching their children to love God is so beautiful. Here are a few of my thoughts tonight.

The things "I LOVE about going to church", or I could say...things "I LOVE about being a part of a church" came to mind.

1. God comes and meets with us.

2. I have friends and family there.

3. I have a Pastor who preaches the Word of God, so I can be saved.

4. People really do CARE!

5. There is unconditional love from those around me.

6. We are FAMILY!

7. I feel at "home", when I'm with those who believe Truth!

8. I love good, Apostolic music!

9. I love good, Apostolic, anointed singing!

10. I love the freedom I have to worship and praise the Lord.

I've known these things all of my life, but tonight I was overwhelmed with the awesomeness of being part of "THE CHURCH"! It's just FUN living for God!!! I have always LOVED church, and I'm not about to stop now!

Of course, I didn't even begin to tell all the reasons I LOVE church. That's just a "tidbit" of my heart.

Groves Weekend

When I walked through the doors I felt His presence.

And I knew this was the place where love abounds.

And we are standing in His presence on holy ground.

I was not walking into the sanctuary of a church, but was sitting at the dinner table with David, Sandra and Jason Myer. This is the only way I can describe what I felt as my husband was "giving thanks" for the delicious meal Sis. Myer had prepared! When you are with the Myer Family you know you are with friends who care about you, and love you for who you are. They have recently lost their son Justin, after a very serious illness that put him into a coma. This family has been with him 24/7 for five years! One of them was by his side at all times. The love and devotion shown by them is beautiful, and they show that kind of love to everyone around them.

We had wonderful services in their lovely new building that they built during the time they were taking care of Justin. The presence of the Lord was in each service.

There is a couple in the church that had connections to the Allison, TX church that my Dad pastored before I was born! Keith and Ann Boydston were both raised in Allison. They told me the story about Daddy going to a house one night to ride to the hospital with a man, because this man's wife was having a baby. When they got to the hospital a little girl was born and they named her "Ann". The "baby", Ann "Gilmer" Boydston was standing here telling me the story! By the time our Dad's left the hospital, a blizzard had blown in, so they followed a snow plow as far as they could on the highway. When they got to the road that went to the house, the snow plow went straight, but they had to turn. Since the snow was already too deep to drive through, there was no way to get to the house except for them to get out of the car, and walk a mile in the snow! The wind was howling, the snow blowing, and they nearly froze to death! Daddy asked for "warm water" to put his frozen feet in, and even though Bro. Gilmer tried to convince him that "wasn't the thing to do", Daddy just KNEW he had to have "warm water...not cold"! He learned a lesson that night, for sure! I'm sure he decided he had better listen to those who knew "how to thaw out"! His feet was in terrible pain for quite some time! :) Poor Daddy! LOL! She also told me that Daddy taught her Dad, Bro. Gilmer, how to make "cream gravy"!!! She said, "Daddy would never make it any other way from that day on. He made it the way "his pastor", taught him for the rest of his life." It was great talking to her and her husband, Keith. It's a SMALL WORLD!!!! Another thing I loved about Ann is the way she laughed. She reminded me so much of my friend, Linda Shahan! She has a ready smile, and a laugh just waiting to burst forth! I missed my "friend", yet it was wonderful..."remembering".

We enjoyed lunch with Jonathan, Brenda and the girls when we were on our way back home. I just had to throw in a picture of them! :) Here is a short slideshow for you to enjoy.

Quick Post

I wanted to write a real quick post before going to sleep tonight and just say I will be posting about our weekend in Deweyville soon. We had a great time and I took some pictures I want to share, so keep watching for them. I have not been able to post today, because we have been on the road to Wichita Falls. We needed to pick up a few things that we've needed so decided to take a FAST trip to get them. Of course, knowing they were having choir practise at the church I got there as quickly as I could to see a few who were still standing around talking. It did me a lot of good to get a lot of hugs and smiles. I will go to sleep tonight with a contentment knowing I am loved!
