Alayna's 5th Birthday Party

A few weeks ago we had Alayna's birthday party at "Jump for Joy". We had a GREAT time as you will be able to see from the pictures. I will make another slideshow for you to see the rest of the fun. I just thought I would put this one on before going to bed so you will have a something to smile about today! Enjoy the fun with us!

Note: For those of you who do not like "squiggly things" on the pictures, please forgive me, but it's a PARTY and I couldn't resist this time!

More Pictures

I got these pictures from Bro. Mark who is a member of The Apostolic Church and I wanted to share them with you. Thank you Bro. Mark for sharing your pictures with me. There are some more pictures of the reception arrangements, and I know you will agree with me that they are absolutely gorgeous! Also, the cake was beautiful and DELICIOUS! I just HAD to throw in some more pictures of Scarlet, Alayna, and Ashlyn. This time I didn't have one of Savanna, but that's okay. I'm sure I will have more of her, soon. Then, there's a couple pictures of Brenda's neices, Natalia and Nevaeh. Pretty girls! Enjoy!

Installation Service Slideshow

Here is the slideshow that I have so far. I will probably have more pictures to show you in a few more days. We had a great time and the presence of God was in every service. The saints in The Apostolic Church are precious. Thank you all for such a great weekend, and for making us feel right at "home"! You're great! God bless you all!

So Sorry!

I just want to let everyone know that I am trying to get a slideshow on of the Installation Services in Beaumont, but Rock You has closed on me THREE TIMES and I have not been able to finish the slideshow. I lost some of my work once and so, I will try to get it up sometime in the next few days. I really am wanting to get it done so you can enjoy it with me. I'm very sorry!

Mixed Emotions

We are on our way home from Beaumont, but I had a hard time leaving the kids this time. I want to be home and need to be home, but have mixed emotions. I didn't get to tell Savanna good-bye today since she was at school when we left, so when I talked to her this afternoon she said, "You know something? You could stay just one more night, Mimi." I felt terrible having to tell her I had already left!!! She was okay after I talked to her for minute, but I still feel sad. Brenda came to say good-bye and said "I feel so sad!" and then started crying! Brother! No wonder I feel sad! Andrew and Mandy are still at her folks preaching them a revival this week, so I won't get to hug on them or the girls when I get home, either! Does anyone feel sorry for me, yet? :) I am looking forward to seeing my wonderful church family tomorrow night so please everyone be there. As soon as I get a chance to get online with my computer I will post some pictures. Talk to you all soon.

I will also be putting a slideshow together and I'm sure you will want to see it. :) I do want to tell you that Savanna was baptized this morning! It was so special!!!

On Our Way Again

Today we are travelling to Beaumont to be at Jonathan and Brenda's Installation Service. We are really looking forward to sharing this special time with them and their church. Wendell is the special speaker on Friday night. Jonathan wanted his Dad to preach his installation and he feels very honored to do this. I don' know how much time I will have for blogging over the next few days, but I will try to blog a little along the way. Please breathe a prayer for our safety and for everyone who is travelling to this event. Also, please be in prayer for my husband as he ministers. Thank you in advance! I trust you are having a wonderful week. God is good and cares about you and what you are going through. Rest in Him and let His peace surround you.

More Time with Family and Friends

After the reception we went to Ronda and Nathan's to visit for awhile. Tena and Len were serving dinner. It was good seeing one of the "blogging friends". The Williams are preaching a revival for the Hursts, so we enjoyed a visit with them, also. The twins are growing up and are "two handfulls"! LOL! They are now 2 year olds, and they are so cute. We had a wonderful time getting to visit with family and friends.

Shoemake's 50th Wedding Anniversary

As you all know, this past week we were in San Jose, CA celebrating with Jimmy and Bobbie Shoemake on their 50th Wedding Anniversary and 50 Years in Ministry! We had a wonderful time being with them and some "old friends" that we don't get to see very often. Of course, going to California always brings back memories for us and I always enjoy walking down "memory lane". One of the pictures I really like in the slideshow is of "ME"! LOL! I was the "flower girl" in the Shoemake's wedding, so I took a picture of "the wedding party" so I could share it with you, and my grand-daughters. I'm sure they will not be able to grasp the fact that Mimi was ever a "little girl"! Also, I did not realize that Bro. Kenneth Haney was in the wedding. You will find him in the picture also. I could write a lot about our time there, but I will let the slideshow tell the story. Thank you for being patient with me. I've been too busy to sit down at the computer since arriving home, so I stayed up tonight to get this posted. Of course, I didn't mind!

Almost Home

It has been a long day, but we are almost home! We were delayed in San Jose because of bad weather in Dallas, so we are getting home later than expected. Thank the Lord for clearing the skies so we could have a safe flight in. Thank you for praying for us. I will have to find some time to blog this week, so please don't get impatient with me. LOL! Of course, I don't think anyone's life is depending on whether I blog or not, but I do hope you look forward to more of my "adventures"! I can sure tell I'm really tired because I'm rambling. I will go for now, I can see the "lights of home" in the distance! Somehow that sounds like a message. :) "Hold on a little longer saints for He is coming soon and we will be home! No more suffering. No more parting! No more disappointments! We're almost home...it won't be long! Talk to ya'll later. We're driving into "our city"! WE ARE HOME!!!

Travel Time Again

Today we will be flying again. We have had a wonderful time and I will be blogging about it when I return home, so keep an eye on my blog. I am sure you will enjoy the slideshow when I get it posted. Until then please pray for a safe journey as we "fly the friendly skies" once again. Thank you for your prayers. If you have read my blog in the past you know I am not fond of this kind of travel. I would rather be in a car, than "up in the air"! Have a great day and I will do the same.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Today our son, Andrew is THIRTY (30) YEARS OLD! Andrew you have brought so much joy into our lives and Dad and I are more than proud of you. I don't know what words to use, to tell you how we feel, but you have been a great example of how a young man should conduct himself. Thank you for being obedient, loving, fun, and respectful! God has blessed you because you have followed Him. You gave your life to God when you were 8 years old, and have never disappointed us in your walk with God. You are now a preacher of the gospel and I must say, I LOVE HEARING YOU PREACH!!! Dad and I love you more than we can put into words. Have a fabulous birthday!
FIVE YEARS ago TODAY, on her Daddy's birthday our little "Sunshine Alayna" came into this world and I want to say she has been a beautiful "ball of sunshine" in our lives! Alayna, Papa and Mimi think you are absolutely gorgeous! Your smile and laughter overwhelms us with happiness. You surprise us a lot of times with things you will say, and we have to laugh, because you sound so grown up. I wish all the world could know you, then they would see what a little girl is suppose to be. You are happy, loving, sweet, fun, sensitive, and beautiful! We love you and hope you have a wonderful, wonderful day!

Also....CAMERON....our nephew is SIXTEEN today!! My how time FLIES when you're having FUN! Cameron, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We love you so much and are very proud of you!!!!!

Can't Believe It

I am writing this tonight to ask you to pray for my sister, Ronda. While praying for someone Sunday she stepped back and did not know somone was behind her praying, and she tripped and fell on her right arm and BROKE it! I feel terrible for her. I wish I was there to help her do what needs to be done. I know she will be okay, but for the next six weeks it's going to be hard for her to do anything! She is right-handed so you know how that's going to be for her. Anyway, I know ya'll will pray for her and I appreciate it. Thank you!!

Christmas Time's Coming

Ok, ya'll.....I just couldn't resist! I've been thinking about how fast this year has flown by and realized that Christmas is "just around the corner". It will be here before we know it! Then a brand new year and we'll be "off and running"! I just thought I would share this picture with you all. This has always been a tradition at our house. When we went to Mother and Daddy's house for Christmas, after opening gifts, (we opened them taking turns, and ONE gift at a time) we always had "wrapping paper snowball fights" and before we cleaned it all up we ended up in the floor playing "in" the wrapping paper. I can still hear Daddy's voice booming, "OK........IT'S TIME TO CLEAN IT ALL UP! KEITH, WENDELL, NATHAN, GENE YA'LL GRAB SOME TRASH BAGS AND LET'S GET IT DONE!" Mother would be over in her chair giggling, and enjoying the "show". Then when we had our chldren we continued the "snowball fights" and "playing in the wrapping paper on the floor". Now.....every Christmas we continue the "tradition" and the FUN! Our granddaughters love it when their Daddy's hide under the paper! They love jumping in the paper, and finding their Daddy's! Of course, they try to hide like "Daddy". They don't think anyone can find them. It's cute! After a little while their Mommy's jump in and then the "fun" REALLY begins! I sit in my chair enjoying the commotion and the fun, but one thing for sure...I will have a camera in my hands! (Picture taken by one of Santa's helpers)

HAPPY SHOPPING!!

End of Week

Just a little note to say thank you all for another great week in blogging. It is wonderful having friends and family that care about you and what is happening in your world. I am blessed beyond measure to have friends like this in my life, so I just had to stop and enjoy the "blessings of friendship". This week is coming to an end and I can say, "God's been good to me"! He is the best and greatest Friend of all and I love Him so much. The words to this song tells the way I feel.

I love to tell how Jesus saved my soul, When I was lost and facing dark despair.
But mortal tongue could never tell the whole, nor thank Him for such wondrous love and care.

Oh, He is more than all the world to me. The DEAREST FRIEND that I have ever known.
And it will take the whole eternity, to thank Him for the love that He has shown.

That's the thought I want to leave you with tonight. Giving Him praise and glory for all the things He has done and thanking Him for YOU! God bless you all!

Special Day, Special Lady

I did not want to let this day completely pass by without remembering my Mother's 75th birthday. Everyone who knew her called her a "queen". A more beautiful lady you will never find. Her presence was always enjoyed by all. I miss her very much, and life has not been the same since she was called home, but I know she is enjoying the presence of the Lord. That's where she found her joy and peace while here in this life, so I have no doubt she's loving being in the presence of her King! Mother, we all love you and miss you. We will be home in a little while! I took this picture from the parking lot of our church. Mother loved the sunsets from Life Tabernacle.

Autumn Leaves?

Is there anyone out there who is having "fall weather", yet? We are smothering here! It was 93 degrees today!! What is that all about? It's OCTOBER and it's suppose to be cooling down. I'm not going to say very much about it, I'm just wondering if it's cooling down anyplace else and if anyone has "fall leaves"? If you do, please post them on your blog so I can see them. I love the colors of autumn!

Jewel at "Down In My Little Valley" gave me this "You Make Me Smile Award" and I was so touched that she has enjoyed my blog this much. I also enjoy reading blogs and have learned a lot about people I have loved for a long time, and then making friends with others I have never met and may never get the opportunity to meet on this side of heaven. But, one of these days we will all gather around the throne and meet each other for the first time! Thank you Jewel for being an inspiration to me and also for being so kind. Here is the description of what the award is all about.
"The thing that I love most about blogging is that I learn so much about a person just by reading their blog. I have met MANY wonderful people with wonderful stories to tell, and I am grateful every day for each person that I have the pleasure of crossing paths in life with. I wanted to create something special for people who have inspired me through their blogging; the stories they tell, and the lives that they lead with grace and dignity. I visit their blogs for inspiration and encouragement. Although there are MANY people I want to give this award to at this very moment, I am going to choose four bloggers: Please grab your badge and wear it(with a smile) proudly, and pass it on because you inspire and encourage me, thank you.”
And now I am going to pass it on to some people who make ME smile and encourage me with their postings.

Greg Henry Weekend

This weekend Bro. Greg Henry was with us and we had a wonderful time! Bro. Henry is a favorite evangelist of mine. I love his preaching, singing and attitude! He's just a wonderful man of God and we always enjoy having him with us. He preached some timely messages for our church and we are looking forward to him being with us in revival in November. His family could not come this time, but hopefully they will get to be in some of the revival services. Thank you, Bro. Henry for coming and being a blessing.

Last night was highlighted by another one of our children receiving the Holy Ghost!! Howie was baptized last Sunday night, and this Sunday night received the Holy Ghost! I saw him again tonight at prayer meeting and he said, "I got the Holy Ghost last night!!" I didn't see anyone with a camera and ask Priscilla to take some pictures with mine. Thank you, Priscilla! I sure didn't want to miss that moment.

I didn't get pictures of the other children a few weeks ago, and I hate that I missed them. I was busy praying with them, and saw others taking pictures, so didn't get my camera. I try to have a camera ready most of the time. LIFE is too full of great things happening to not have a camera by my side.

That leads me to this....MAKE MEMORIES, you will never regret it!
