On Our Way

We were so sad to hear about our friend and fellow Pastor, Bro. Scott McManus, from Greenville, TX. being killed in a motorcycle accident yesterday evening. We were in Estes Park, CO when we got the news and immedieately started making plans to head toward Greenville for the funeral. Bro. McManus was a great man and we will miss him so much!! He and is wife, Belinda preached us a revival in Comanche, TX when our boys were young and we "connected" with them at that time. With some folks you just know they are your friend from the beginning. Please keep Sis. McManus and Lucas, their son and family in your prayers, as well as their church family. We have lost a great man of God in our lives and a true friend!

HAPPY 10TH ANNIVERSARY!

On July 25th, 1997 Jonathan and Brenda got married in Sacramento, CA. It is hard to believe that 10 years have already gone by. I didn't get a chance to wish them a Happy Anniversary on my blog, so I want to tell them we are so proud of their life, together. Jon and Brenda, you are a beautiful couple and we love you!

Relaxing

After a pretty busy two weeks of travelling, we are now settled for several days in Estes Park, CO and we are just relaxing. The Shoemake's left this morning to fly back home to California. They said "it's too HOT", so they decided to go home for a little while. LOL! Today we didn't do anything but read and relax. We did go get a bite of supper then took an "after dinner drive" here in the mountains of Colorado. It was nice and cool. It's raining now and it's good sleeping weather. I think I will go lay myself down and go to sleep. I love the sound of rain on my roof!

Canada Pictures

Thank you for stopping by to enjoy our vacation with us. These pictures were taken in Canada. There is NO WAY to show or tell how beautiful it is. We left Kalispell, MT and drove to Radium Hot Springs, BC, Canada then drove up to Jasper, AB, Canada for a night. We saw some unbelievable sights. Our God is so amazing to create all the beauty that He did! When I see nature like this I know God had to do it, and then He placed us in the middle of it all to ENJOY!! Our God is GREAT!

FINALLY!

I have been without internet service for DAYS!!! I just accidentally got on for a few minutes. We are out in the middle of "no where" it seems. Actually, we have made it out of Canada and are now in Garryowen, MT! Have you ever heard of such a place? (Joseph) LOL! By the way....we love "meandering" around the country. You, ought to try it sometime! Ok, back to where we are. We stayed in an RV Park called "7th Ranch RV Camp" last night. It is located just outside Hardin, MT next to the field where "Custers last stand" was fought. There is nothing out here but wide open fields and a few hills and it's HOT! Yesterday when we pulled in it was 104-106 degrees. The Shoemake's haven't hardly peeked out of their motorhome! LOL! I told them they were "pansies"! They've lived in beautiful weather WAY TO LONG! Anyway, we are having a nice time. Trying to get into Colorado for a few days before heading home. I don't have time to post pictures this morning, but I will try to post some in the next few days. Please be patient with me. :) I love you all and will be "back in the saddle" soon!

No Greater Joy!

Jonathan watching and praying as Savanna receives the Holy Ghost!
Brenda said, "I can't describe the feeling I had when I saw her speaking in tongues"!
Savanna gets hugs from her Daddy as Mommy and Scarlet look on. What a day of rejoicing!

I just received these pictures and wanted to share them with you all.

BREAKING NEWS!

SAVANNA RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!

Please wish her HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Today is her natural birth, and last night her spiritual birth! WOW! I am EXCITED!
HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY, SAVANNA!

Savanna was born the day after Daddy and Mother's Anniversary. She was also born 3 weeks before Mother died in 2001. It was such a comfort to go home from Hospice to a tiny little "sweetheart" and let her warm, cuddly body bring me comfort! Savanna brought so much joy to all of our hearts during the last few weeks of Mother's life and still does. Mother got to see her before she died and we had a very special time when Bro. Shoemake asked Mother to "bless Savanna". He then laid his hand on Mother's head and started praying that "the spirit of Sis. Layne, this great-grandmother, be transferred to Savanna". Mother then started worshipping the Lord. All she did was worship! It was so beautiful and sweet. Savanna is the only one of my grandchildren Mother ever saw. I wish she could see everyone of my sweet granddaughters! She would absolutely adore them. Another special memory of Savanna was when she was two weeks old. I was sitting in the rocking chair holding her and I was thanking God for her, and praying that "Jesus" would keep His hand on her life. When I said "Jesus" her little eyes immediately went to mine as if she knew what I had just said. I am convinced that she felt the presence of God that day. The reason I believe this is because Brenda is a prayer warrior, and before Savanna was born Brenda would sit in her nursery at home and would pray for her little girl to be blessed by God. Savanna, you are a special gift from God to me and Papa and I want you to know God has a special calling on your life. I love you and want you to have a WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY! I wish we could be with you, but we will celebrate when we see you real soon!

Vacation Pictures

I really have been too busy to post pictures. I finally got to where I could stay on-line for a little while so here are some pictures. I'm not putting very many on. You don't have the time to sit and watch a l-o-n-g-e-r slideshow than I've already got. I hope you enjoy this one. I'm not sure when I will be able to post again. I hope everyone is doing good. Thanks for stopping by.

Joined Joseph

Okay, everyone! I have joined Joseph in his polls. Since there has been a recent debate on the "slideshow issue" (lol) I thought I would ask my readers what you think. Please look at the poll and answer the questions. I just thought it would be a fun way to find out what people think. I happen to like the slideshows I get to "view" on blogs as long as they do not go to-o-o-o-o FAST or are not to-o-o-o-o BUSY! Anyway, please answer the questions and let's see what happens. (You will find the poll to the right of the blog.)

As far as our vacation.....keep checking back. I will have a "slideshow" on soon! LOL!

Victor, Idaho

"Just a short drive from Jackson Hole, Wyoming and at the foot of three mountain ranges (the Tetons, the Bigholes and the Palisades) is Victor, Idaho. This is Teton Valley, with close access to three National Forests and two National Parks - Grand Teton and Yellowstone. Teton Valley offers a peaceful setting for your Rocky Mountain vacation."

Hello everyone! We stayed in Victor, ID tonight. We are on our way to Yellowstone tomorrow and will be meeting the Shoemake's. The quote above tells a little bit about where we are. We had a 10% grade to drive over today. Whew! In the motorhome with the car on the trailer, it was quite a deal. We finally stopped in a "turn out" and took the car off of the trailer and I drove it over the mountain while my wonderful husband drove the motorhome. We were glad to get to the RV park safe and sound.

Ashlyn Dedicated

I just HAD to go back a few days and report on Ashlyn's Dedication. Darrell and Jeanetta (Mandy's parents) came to Wichita Falls so we could dedicate our precious baby, Ashlyn. What a "jewel" she is! God has blessed us with another gorgeous little girl and Andrew and Mandy gave her back to Him last Sunday morning. Baby dedications are so special and I am always touched when parents take this very important step in their lives. Ashlyn, you are privileged to have parents who love the Lord with all their hearts and they will lead you to "follow Him". We love you more than we can say. You are chosen for Him!

Note: I thought it appropriate to show Ashlyn with her Pastor, Papa Elms. :) I had more pictures, but know that Mandy will post the ones she has for you to see.

Relaxing Day

Today has been a wonderful day! We have travelled into Wyoming and the weather has been pleasant except for a little wind. Of course, being from North Texas we are used to it. I got to talk to all of my kids and grandkids today and that makes my whole day sparkle! I also talked to my sisters, one "brother" (Gene) and one nephew (Chad). WOW! Getting to visit with all of them for a little while made me so happy! Jonathan told me about baptizing 4 people in Jesus Name and one person receiving the Holy Ghost this passed Sunday, and I could hear the excitement in his voice as he talked about all the wonderful things God is doing in Beaumont. God is just so AWESOME and knows exactly where to put His men to do His work. Savanna told us tonight that she has lost another tooth! It's hard to believe that she will be 6 years old in about 5 days. How time flies! Scarlet was so cute talking about Taco Bell! LOL! She was even singing a song about loving Taco Bell! LOL! Alayna was her sweet, happy self when I talked to her earlier. Although, she was pretty preoccupied with her "make believe world". :) Well, I guess I'm not telling ya'll much about my vacation, but just being able to talk to my family means everything. There's really not a lot happening right now to tell about. We're just relaxing and having a GREAT time being together! Love ya'll!

Vacation

Just to let everyone know...I am on VACATION!!!! We are having a wonderful, relaxing time. We visited with the Royce Elms family a little last night and then had breakfast with Royce and Jeana (his daughter) this morning. It was so good seeing all of the "clan"! The grandkids are all growing up and the family is still growing! One baby is due this next week (to Ron and Jeana) and TWINS are expected in a few months to Rolonda and Nathan!! By Christmastime, they will have SIX (6) high chairs around the table!! All I can say is that it is a real "trip" to be with all of them at one time! LOL! It's never quiet, but it's always a lot of FUN! We left Amarillo after breakfast and are in Colorado tonight. It's beautiful here. I love you all and will blog whenever I can while I am away. I hope you are all having a wonderful week.

Well.....?

I need help! I posted about Bro. Holley's iPhone, and ever since my page has been rearranged, so I had to take it off. Can anyone help me? I have tried several things, but I am stumped!! Is there such a thing as having too many slideshows, or pictures? Is there a limit on what is allowed? This has never happened to me. I would appreciate any help. Thank you!!
We're HOME!

It's NOT raining! We can go in and out of our house, now. They are working on getting the electricity on today or tomorrow. We saw the stars last night for a little while. That was good to see!! Please keep praying this low pressure system away! Thank you!

PLEASE PRAY!

The low pressure system that was over us last week and brought so much rain went into Oklahoma, but has now returned to our area. As you all know, we do not need anymore rain! I'm asking everyone that reads my blog to please pray that the rain will stop and the atmosphere will become stabilized again. It's not only our city and state that is being affected, but Oklahoma and Kansas is also flooding. Thank you so much for praying!
