Goodbye 2011...Welcome 2012

The year 2011 has been a wonderful year in so many ways, and my husband and I have been blessed to have two gorgeous granddaughters born, making the total SIX! We couldn't be more in love than we already are with these blessings from God. Thank you Jesus for our sweetheart babies!

We have also been blessed to serve another year in the Kingdom of God. We are so thankful for all of our ministry friends and their families. We are honored to be part of such great people, and feel your love as we travel around the district. We are blessed to be in your company. We are looking forward to another great year in the Texas District and anxious to see what God "has up His sleeve" for all of us. ;-)

As I've gone about my home this evening, unpacking from a very busy three days, I have been feeling the presence of the Most High God bidding me to "draw closer" to Him. I found myself singing...

Jesus, You're the center of my joy;
All that's good and perfect comes from You.
You're the heart of my contentment;
Hope for all I do.
Jesus, You're the center of my joy.

My heart is reaching for more of Him, and less of me in this New Year. Just to dwell in His presence, and know He is near when I whisper His Name is a beautiful comfort.

The New Year...2012...I want to go back to the basics. I really would like to get rid of any access baggage that would weigh me down in my spirit. Whatever "bugs me" because I'm human, I would love to not worry about anymore, but the only way to do that is to focus on the One who is PERFECT in ALL things! I want to know what His Word has to say to me this year, and to know what He expects of ME. I want to know Him more and spend more time with Him in prayer losing myself in His presence just to know Him.

I have a "special project" that I am starting this year that I'm looking forward to. I spent a long time today finding exactly what I wanted and needed to help me with this. It's something that will have eternal benefits and I'm excited! I may disclose what it is at a later date, but at this time I want to keep it close to my heart.

What are your plans this year? Do you have anything you're really wanting to accomplish? Whatever it is, let it become your PASSION, especially if it is something that will draw you closer to God. When 2012 comes to a close may we all look back and say we had a wonderful year and that we love God more than we did when we began the year. May His grace and mercy lead us, may we see the things of God come into focus and the things of the world fade into the background. And, if Jesus chooses to come back for His children, my heart's desire is to see you dancing on the streets of gold!

I will leave my blog for the year 2011 by focusing once again on what's important and singing...

This world, this world is not my home.
This world, this world is not my home.
This world, is not my resting place.
This world, this world is not my home.

Goodbye 2011 ... WELCOME 2012!   I'm happy to see you...

Today - 1/1/11

The first day of the New Year is winding down. It has been a wonderful day for Wendell and me. I got a little more organized in different areas of my life, and relaxed. The beginning of every year is very busy for us, so it felt good to be home drinking in His presence and strength.

This coming weekend is the M.A.P. Seminar where we teach ministers and wives who are applying for or upgrading their license to another level in the United Pentecostal Church International, and it's always a wonderful time. The next week we begin our travels over the district for our Sectional Conferences. I love the traveling and having the opportunity to see many of the ministers and wives of the TEXAS District.

I am looking forward to this year. There is an underlying excitement in my heart. I don't know why I feel this way, but I look forward to great things happening in all of our lives. I think we ought to "go all out" for greater revival than ever before! It's time for a mighty sweeping of God's spirit and Truth to sweep our country. There are so many people who are hungry for a real experience with Jesus Christ, and there are many backsliders that are pondering in their heart about what they've always known. I fully believe when they lay down at night, and the lights are off that they are hearing the voice of Jesus beckoning them to "Come Home". His voice is gentle, His touch is soft, but His presence is very strong as He talks to their heart.

While I'm on the subject, let me ask the question...you don't have to answer...Are YOU one of the ones I'm referring to? Are you tired of running away from God? Are you hurting and lonely? Are you searching for HIM, but you know you won't find Him where you are? I beg you to COME HOME!

After receiving an Anonymous Comment on my post entitled "Stranger Danger" a song has kept coming to me. I know it's for someone who reads my blog, but I don't know WHO that someone is. Please listen to your heart as you read these words.

HE RESCUED ME

On the stormy sea of sin I was sinking
Never to rise again
The wind and the rains ‘round me crashing
Had battered and torn me within

But He rescued me, Jesus rescued me
From the cold dark waters of sin’s troubled sea
He rescued me, new life I can see
Jesus reached down in love
And He rescued me.

I could feel death’s arm around me
As I struggled for my life
I could see his angel waiting to claim me for his prize
In my hour of desperation I almost lost my mind
But somehow I cried to Jesus
And He saved me just in time.

Oh, how my heart cries for the "one" I am speaking to. I may not know you personally, or I may, but it doesn't matter. I beg you to let Jesus speak to you. Don't shut Him out! He will rescue you and bring you to a "safe" place. My heart has been heavy for that "one lost sheep" and I have been praying for you.

For my many friends...I am so blessed to have you in my life. I trust you will all have a successful 2011. I don't know what your goals are, but I know if you want something bad enough you will get it. It's not easy to discipline ourselves to get to where we want to be, but it's worth it. Let's join our hearts and hands with the One who can help us. Jesus will always be there to bring strength in the times of weakness. Oh...how I love HIM!

Blessings...

2011...Just Around the Corner

It is now 11:21 PM in Texas, and I have been thinking about 2010. There has been a lot of things happen over the last 12 months. Some happy, some sad...and God has been FAITHFUL through it all. He's always been by our side and has given us strength to face whatever the obstacle. I'm so thankful He has stood by us all the way!

I always get excited when the "old year" is coming to a close. I love the fact that the "new year" has yet to be written on and we have the chance to change those things we want to change, and to strengthen areas of our lives that need to be strengthened. There's a new year getting ready to be born! I already hear fireworks going off from those who are celebrating, and that's alright, but my heart is having it's own "fireworks of anticipation".

We are just 35 minutes away from opening the clean white pages of 2011!

I wonder...what great things will happen this coming year?
I wonder...who will our new granddaughter look like?
I wonder...which backslider will be the first one in the altar this year?
I wonder...how many souls will come to know Him in the fullness of truth?

And...I wonder...will Jesus appear in the clouds and take us all HOME?

What a great year awaits all of us. What are you planning to do with it? I hope you're making God-centered plans for the new year. I want to be better in many things, and I'm going to work towards "being the best I can be".

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my family and friends! Thank you for another great year of friendships and love. I wish you all the greatest God has for you, and love you more this year than I ever have! YOU are wonderful!

May God bless you in 2011! Let's celebrate His goodness!

I'll leave you with one of my favorite pictures of 2010. In November we were invited to preach for Bro. Huntley in Raleigh, NC, AND he invited us to go hunting with him and is sweet wife, Patsy for a couple of days. Here we all are before heading to the deer stand! By the way...Patsy Huntley shot a deer! It was my first experience of sitting in a deer stand. What fun we had!

First Day of 2010

Sitting here tonight I reflect on the past and look forward into the future. No, I can't "see" what's going to happen in 2010, but I can say by faith that it's going to be a good year. Tiny thoughts try to infiltrate my mind and bring "fear of the unknown", but I do not let them linger long, because I know God is in control of 2010. When you realize He "calls the shots", then you can rest knowing you're in good hands!

January 1, 2010 has been a beautiful day starting out the new year with the sun shining, people smiling and saying "Happy New Year". I've heard the voices of family and friends talking about things they have enjoyed in 2009. Simple things, like a do-nut from a special do-nut shop, the world's largest Christmas store, church services and the moving of the spirit as they gathered to worship the Lord. I listened as stories were told and laughter rang out bringing lightness to our hearts. Ahhh...it's a beautiful life when you're living it for God, and sharing with others!

Earlier today Wendell was on the phone with his brother Royce and I got to enjoy their conversation as their voices came across the speakers of the car phone. I couldn't help but think how "the Elms brothers" have such a great relationship with each other, and the deep respect and love they share. Then, I heard Royce laugh! There is no one that can laugh quite like him, and when he gets started it is contagious! The other day, one of our sons mentioned that "someone needs to use Uncle Royce's laugh as a ringtone"! LOL! I couldn't agree more!

I really hope 2010 will be a GREAT year for all of my friends and family. There is so much sadness and stress in our world, so I wish you all the joy you can hold, and maybe it will splash over on someone who is going through a tough time. Relax, laugh a lot, touch someone with love, and you'll find it makes life so much more FUN!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2009 Has Begun

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My, how time FLIES! I sat down to do this post and looked to see what time it was and it's already 35 minutes after the New Year started!!!!

I pray each one of you will be blessed beyond measure in 2009. I have really been looking forward to a new year. I just feel for some reason that it is going to be a good year in so many ways.

I want you all to know that I love having you as friends. You have helped me so many times, and you probably didn't even realize it. THANK YOU for your love and friendship. Let's make this year GREAT!

The Future

I am sitting here this morning in a quiet house. The grandbabies are asleep and most of the adults are too. It's almost 3 A.M. and I'm wide awake! It has been a great Christmas and I am reviewing it all.

Since we do not have a house in Lufkin at this time, our family is in a "different setting" this year . Andrew and Mandy haven't sold their house, or bought another one since moving to Balch Springs, so Jonathan and Brenda are the only ones in our family who have a house!!!! :) It was the first time for us to be at their house for Christmas, so needless to say, we have all experienced something new. This past year has been a HUGE change for our family, but it's so nice to know that we couldn't have been any happier than we were today! Being together is what it's all about, and we have thoroughly enjoyed it.

I find myself looking forward to the New Year. I have a lot of thoughts rushing through my head for 2009. I'm looking for great things to happen. There are new experiences to have, new moutains to climb, new battles to be fought, and new victories to be won! Of course, I do not know what they will be for I cannot see the future, but I know God has it all planned. I really thought I knew what it was like to totally trust Him, but as each day goes by I'm learning more and more about His love for me. He has been by my side every step of the way. Yes, life has changed for us, but since He's the One that has changed our direction, I feel safe.

I really do not have a lot more to say. The "holiday rush" has come and gone, and I'm seeing the beginning of a brand new year in the distance. Let us move toward the end of 2008, and get ready for the New Year with anticipation. Forget those things which are behind and press on to new horizons!
