The Cornwell's are more "longtime friends" of ours. We preached for them in Allison, TX back in the 70's. If you've never been to Allison, you just don't know what you're missing. :) There's a lot of stories to tell about that time in our lives, but I won't. Not in this post, anyway. But, knowing the Virgil and Nancy Cornwell has been one of our JOYS in life! I am not exaggerating when I say, they have been some of our favorite people. They are true Christians, loving and caring, always the same, and have loved us and our boys through the years. There is no price tag that can be placed on friendships like this. As you can tell, we enjoyed going to Savoy! We had some great services. The saints in Savoy were very warm and welcomed us with open arms. It's always wonderful being able to walk into a church and you feel at "home" the first time you step through the door.Sunday afternoon dinner was at the Cornwell's house and we had a delicious meal with part of the family. I didn't take any pictures at dinner, so I didn't get a picture of Rusty (the oldest son of the Cornwell's) and his family. I'm really sad about that, too.
After church Sunday night we went to eat with the rest of the family. We had so much fun! Being with "family", talking, remembering, and laughing together refreshes the spirit. We all ought to make it a point to be with friends real often!

After we said our "goodbye's" on Monday, we drove over to Denison to see our good friends, David and Kaye Gilbert. We had been wanting to see the remodeling of their church. They had a major storm (tornado) hit it awhile ago, and they have been working on the church building for some time, so we took the opportunity to stop and see it. We were glad we did! Since neither one of us had a chance to celebrate Valentine's Day we decided to "go on a double date"! :) Our guys took us to P.F.Chang's and we had a GREAT "date". :)
God is GOOD, life is GOOD, and we are BLESSED!
